Our donation for the white stork in Upper Lusatia

Our island is a retreat—not only for you as a guest, but also for nature. Since the beginning, we have placed great importance on environmental awareness, regionality, and active sustainability. With our “Sleep Green” program, we focus on conscious renunciation instead of waste: no daily room cleaning, but an even greater contribution to our environment. The resources saved are thus directly invested in projects that are close to our hearts. Guests are welcome to request room cleaning if they wish.

This year, we are supporting the white stork project at Görlitz Zoo with €3,000. The project not only includes the restoration of nests, but also the care of injured storks in the wildlife station and their release into the wild – a significant contribution to species protection in our region. Together with the Görlitz-Zgorzelec Nature Conservation Zoo, we want to enable the white stork to continue living in its native habitat.

With your stay, you are actively supporting animal and species conservation – thank you for joining forces with us.

Donation project 2021

3,000 euros for Future for Wildlife

The Upper Lusatia region offers a wide and, above all, unique variety of species. Animal species live here that have long since disappeared from other parts of Germany. The zoo is already involved in grazing projects around Lake Berzdorf.

Cleaning up the oceans and rivers Donating together for The Ocean

Donate together for The Ocean Cleanup

Cleanup Every year, millions of tons of plastic end up in the oceans, most of it coming from rivers. Some of this plastic migrates to the garbage patches of the ocean and is caught in a vortex of circulating currents. If no action is taken, plastic will have an increasing impact on our ecosystems, health, and economy. The Ocean Cleanup organization has set itself the goal of cleaning up 95% of the garbage patches in the oceans and rivers and also eliminating the sources of pollution

For the future of healthy and vibrant forests in Saxony

REGIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION

Donate together for NABU Saxony

"Climate change has also reached the forests in Saxony. Warm and dry springs and summers will cause our forest trees even more problems in the future than they already do today. However, forests not only suffer from climate change, they also actively contribute to mitigating climate change by storing carbon and producing oxygen. Forests are therefore not only of particular importance for the plants and animals of the forest ecosystem, but also serve as a basis of life for the people of Saxony." Find out more at NABU Saxony.
